Young people with special needs were invited to explore Boultham Park and take part in activities as part of the “Discover in a Day” project.The new scheme, which is run by the Boultham Park restoration project in partnership with Linkage community trust, gave visitors a tour of the area and provided an arts and crafts workshop.

At the end of the day the guests all received an arts award certificate.

Chelsey Barnes, community development worker at Linkage community trust, said: “We are so excited to be facilitating the Arts Award at the park for the first time. It’s a nationally-recognised award which is open to young people of all abilities.”
