Lincoln City Half Marathon Postponed

Due to Covid-19 the Lincoln City Half Marathon, for which Boultham Park was going to be the race village, has been postponed.

A press release from Lincoln City Foundation explains:

 

Lincoln City Foundation have announced that their flagship event for their charity due to take place on Sunday 20 September 2020 will be postponed until Sunday 19 September 2021.

Charlotte Hornsby, Operations Manager at Lincoln City Foundation said: “It is with regret we have to make this announcement.

“Alongside our event partner Curly’s Athletes, we have explored every possible option to guarantee the safety of our participants, community supporters and staff team, which has always been, and remains our number one priority.

“The support we have had from Lincolnshire County Council and City of Lincoln Council has been phenomenal and we all remain committed to bringing this event to the city next year, with an exciting route that providers runners with a true Lincoln experience.”

The Foundation have a mission to create and provide opportunities that inspire and empowers individuals and communities to develop and improve their physical, social or mental well-being.

Like many charitable organisations, the Foundation have been hit hard since the Coronavirus outbreak and many events of this nature around the UK have been cancelled or postponed.

Charlotte continued: “Sometimes the right decisions are the most difficult. On behalf of the half marathon team and Curly’s Athletes I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has shared in our passion and enthusiasm for the event, offered support and helped us in our consultation with businesses and communities.

“We hope that you will join us in 2021 and beyond, and you continue with us on the journey to bring this event to our amazing city year-on-year.”
